*On July 16th, our team and members of the Advisory Group held a conference call with Bill Murphy, Assistant City Manager for the City of Scottsdale. The call was to discuss the redevelopment of the closed down Villa Monterrey golf course located in Scottsdale and transitioning the area into a park. Mr. Murphy discussed the challenges of a closed down course, working with neighbors on landscaping and other plans and best practices on hydro-seeding, planting trees and security.

*The Advisory Group has initiated a process by which to facilitate other participants and homeowners and possibly expand the group in order to utilize the skills and talents that are abundant in our community. The status quo is not an option. We want a positive and transparent process that turns a community challenge into a community asset.

*Summaries of Advisory Group meetings are available at  www.theparkatclubwest.com.

*Look for our first advertisement in an upcoming issue of the Ahwatukee news.

*Clean-up efforts are starting at the clubhouse and the course. Weeds, dead plants, and trash are being removed. Vandalism and graffiti are being addressed.

*The Advisory group agreed on a statement to the homeowners defining their actions and roles in the process. Click here to read the full statement.
